Finding peace of mind in the essential role of parenting
We offer short and long workshops to groups both large and small. We embrace Positive Discipline from a non-punitive perspective where we see the adult carer as a guiding teacher rather than an authoritarian figure.
Our approach is based on up-to-date scientific and psychological research including early years brain development.
Our work sits on the foundation of the inside-out understanding of how our present-moment reality is created. This understanding points to the power and nature of thought and the truth of where our experience of life is really coming from.
Our workshops have the magical ability of taking pressure out of parenting! We equip you to deal with challenges such as tantrums, aggression, rewards, praise, boundaries, sibling rivalry, bedtimes and more from a place of love, encouragement and understanding.
The fresh perspective you’ll gain means you’ll see your children through a more compassionate lens and enjoy their childhood even more.
Instead of feeling guilty and anxious about parenting I now feel excited. The inside out understanding of thought has shifted my perspective of my whole family and life in general – every parent should do this! Lindsey
So much pressure has been lifted off my shoulders. I don’t feel I have to ‘manage’ my son anymore and we’re having a blast. I’m definitely more confident and relaxed as a dad since I did the workshop. Richard
Workshop 1: We Are Not Responsible For Our Children’s Happiness!
Whaaat! Have you ever noticed how time consuming, stressful and almost impossible it is trying to manage our children’s behaviour?
And are we trying to do that largely because we feel it is our responsibility to keep them happy? Or because we can’t handle their feelings? Or both!
And have you noticed how our children are very good at handling their feelings? How they find their way back to wellbeing and calmness without really doing anything?
We work with you…
In an experiential and interactive way, designed to help you see that your children don’t need fixing and that it’s not up to us to manage their feelings.
By bringing a light-hearted and fun touch to the serious business of parenting using playful and interactive activities aimed at mining for the gold in parents personal stories and experiences.
We help you…
See that you no longer need to carry the weight of responsibility and pressure that can make parenting feel overwhelming.
Gain a fresh perspective, reduce mental clutter and connect more deeply to your inner guidance so you can parent in the way that makes most sense to you, whatever that might look like.
Enjoy the relationship with your child from a ‘listening place’ rather than a ‘fixing place’ so you can step more fully into the child’s experience.
See more clearly how children possess an innate sense of wellbeing, resilience and the wisdom to know what’s in their best interests.
We share with you…
- What purpose our feelings serve and why it’s important to allow and validate our children’s feelings
- How our feelings are created – the inside-out understanding of where our feelings come from
- How we can be gentler with ourselves when we can see the temporary nature of all thoughts and feelings
- Why it’s important to be aware of our moods and how they impact on our ability to listen and be present to our children’s needs
- Why our most important responsibility is to create a loving, safe, supportive and light-hearted environment for our children to thrive
Workshop 2: Positive Discipline From The Inside Out
Have you noticed how parenting sometimes feels easy, loving and flowing? How sometimes we can handle our children’s behaviour really calmly and maturely? And how at other times we lose perspective and our well-meaning intentions to parent gently fly out of the window?
Have you noticed how in the difficult moments the feelings of overwhelm, frustration and guilt seem to dominate?
What if this rollercoaster could become a calmer, more confident relaxed ride? Would you love to have peace of mind and a deeper trust in your instincts to parent in the way that feels right to you?
We work with you…
In an experiential and interactive way, using playful games and activities to draw out the humour and potential for fun in the sometimes serious role of parenting
By offering you a safe space to explore personal parenting stories and find positive ways of reframing them to cultivate more self-acceptance and alternative ways of being in family relationships
We help you see…
How your child’s behaviours, such as tantrums and aggression, are motivated by innocence especially when it looks otherwise
How our children’s under-developed brains are more sensitive to fear triggers and why creating safety is more important than reasoning when the child is feeling their insecurity
How certain behaviours such as whining and crying are communications we are designed to respond to for good reason
How our children have helpfully healthy strategies for off-loading emotional tension and how these aren’t to be feared
We share with you…
- How to drop below the mental noise and connect with your inner guidance to know what’s in your child’s best interests
- How the power and nature of thought creates our experience and feelings about our children moment by moment
- What deep listening really looks like and why there is less to ‘do’ and more to ‘be’
- How to recognise your mood state and whether you’re in the best place to set boundaries, intervene or teach
- Why you don’t need to be your child’s ‘fixer’ and how you can let go of managing or controlling their emotions
Can I bring my baby or toddler to a workshop?
We aim to be as inclusive as possible! Sometimes, the decision will be out of our hands depending on the organiser. While it’s lovely to have children present, we also notice that parents feel more relaxed and learn more when someone else is looking after the little ones so that’s worth bearing in mind.
In what way are your workshops fun?!
We love to use games and activities that you’ve probably never played before! We both have acting backgrounds and are experienced improvisers but don’t worry – you’ll never be put on the spot or exposed. The games are all very playful, easy to understand, and guaranteed to make you laugh.
