APUK Edinburgh & The LothiansWelcome to your new Attachment Parenting group for Edinburgh and the Lothians. We are a small local group part of a larger non-profit company called Attachment Parenting UK (APUK). https://attachmentparenting.co.uk/ Attachment parenting is an approach to raising our children with the aim of promoting a close relationship between baby and parents. We discuss topics such as breast and bottle feeding, babywearing and touch, sleep, feeding and nutrition, and positive discipline, amongst others.
We also provide information and demonstrations on real nappies. Our aim is to meet once a month in a really relaxed and informal manner, just allowing like-minded people to get together and share experiences and suggestions. We don’t profess to be experts, we’re just regular mums who have a passion for raising our children in a more gentle and natural way.
Parenting can be a challenge we wish to simply provide an ear and support for anyone with likeminded views on how we raise our children. We will also invite other local groups such as the local sling library for example, to come along and provide demonstrations occasionally.
Meetings are typically held on the last Sunday of every month between 10am-11am at The Wishing Tree Play Cafe, 85 High Street, Musselburgh, EH21 7DA. Please note that date and times may change subject to the requirements of the venue, all updates will be posted on our Facebook page and via our email list.

About the Wishing Tree
Getting here: It takes about 30-40mins from the center of Edinburgh via the 26 Lothian bus or the 124 East Coast Bus.
If you’ve not been before, it’s a lovely cafe serving a variety of hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, toasties and cakes and the like. It has a super soft play area for children, with a smaller area separated off for the wee ones. Upstairs is a large open space used for many activities such as dance classes or parties.
It’s free to come along to our meetings, but please note that our meets don’t entitle us to free soft play, but they do offer us a super discount at only £2 per child (babies free). You dont have to use the soft play if you dont wish to, there is a large chalkboard, play kitchen and other small toys free to use.
The cafe will be open exclusively for us with the staff on hand should you wish to purchase any drinks or snacks. http://www.wishingtreeplaycafe.com/
